Dip. Couns., B.Sc. (Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy, Adv. Dip. Supervision

Mike's passion for helping people who are struggling with some aspect of their lives was ignited as a volunteer on a telephone helpline back in 1993. His direct experience of the challenges, difficulties, level of isolation, loneliness and the enormous number of people whose mental health was suffering as a result of life circumstances led him to decide to do more and train as a counsellor and psychotherapist. As a result, he founded Introspect Counselling in 2007 to actively support and improve the mental health of people in Dublin's North-side and City and to educate and train other therapists to provide similar services.

Graduating as a counsellor in 2006, Mike was first accredited as a therapist by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) In 2009 and in 2015 he upgraded his skills to become an accredited Counselling Supervisor.

As a passionate contributor to the field of counselling and psychotherapy in Ireland, Mike has had several articles published in Éisteach - The Irish Journal for Counselling & Psychotherapy, has spoken publicly on diverse areas such as resilience, self-care and dreams.
